Find a Teaching Job

As a Sacramento State teacher preparation program alumni, you are highly marketable. In a recent survey, over 95% of our credential completers indicated that they were employed. Administrators who employ our former students are impressed with their preparation. With the program’s excellent reputation and the campus’ various job-placement resources detailed below, you will be in an excellent position to secure your first teaching job!

Scholarships / APLE Grant

Credential programs are an expensive proposition, because a full course schedule and full-time student teaching leave little opportunity to work. The Sacramento State College of Education offers over 60 scholarships, most of them for credential candidates. In addition, the Assumption Program for Loans in Education (APLE) will help you to pay off student loans quickly. Learn more about these important opportunities to defray the costs of your professional education.

Master’s / Doctorate Programs

Enjoy your credential program to the fullest…and come back! Teachers have the benefit of continuous learning on the job. As a Sacramento State alumnus, you have the benefit of being able to maintain a long-term connection to your alma mater. We offer a comprehensive set of M.A. programs that provide meaningful professional and academic development for almost every teaching interest. We hope you’ll consider the programs offered here for all of your professional development needs.
