Welcome to the Graphics Center

The Graphics Center supports provides a variety of services to the College, departments, staff, and faculty. These services fall into three broad categories:

  1. Document Creation

  2. Graphic Design

  3. Web Services

 

Document Creation, Formatting, and Editing

  • CD creation: burning/duplication of files for CD distribution. Note: client must supply CDR or CDRW.

  • Department or office workflow: letterhead, instruction manuals, general documents.

  • Document development: writing, editing, and formatting items used in the classroom or for instructional support or professional development; accessible document assistance.

  • Form development: program applications, department forms, and College documents; can create fillable forms in either MS Word or PDF.

  • File conversion: conversion of file types between applications; transferring content to new applications.

  • Handbooks: program handbooks, instructional manuals, administrative publications.

  • Lamination: Up to tabloid size (11 x 17) lamination. Note: client must supply materials.

  • Microsoft Office application support: creation, revision, troubleshooting for all Office documents.

  • Presentation development: PowerPoint and Keynote presentation development and assistance; slide shows; image provision and editing.

  • Tabs: based on desired printing template (for example, 5-bank). Note: client must supply tab stock.

  • Worksheets: basic worksheets for classroom and office use.

Graphic Design

  • Advertisements: set-up of files for advertising in printed and online publications.

  • Brochures: orientation materials, program introduction, department descriptions. These can be in a variety of formats, with the 3-panel option C-folded the most common. Brochures files can be set up for full-color printing.

  • CD labels/cases: CD labels and cases with printed inserts.

  • Event materials: announcements, invitations, post cards, RSVP notes, programs, name tags, table flags; most of these materials can be created within the color with limited color.

  • Flyers: standard letter, legal, and tabloid flyers for events, announcements, and general use. These are generally black and white, but color is possible in some cases. Larger sizes are possible for special projects.

  • Foam core mounting: Mounting of print material or art work on foam core. Note: client must supply materials.

  • Illustrations: basic illustrations and diagrams for instruction, professional publication, or general use.

  • Image editing, printing: all forms of image editing, including optimizing for color printing, emailing, or web use; printing of images, contact sheets, photos sets. Note: client must provide supplies.

  • Photo editing, printing: contact sheets, group photo prints.

  • Publication formatting: detailed set-up of print documents for journal publication, including graphic materials.

  • Posters/charts: organizational charts, event information, announcements, and promotional materials up to 24" wide. These jobs are generally printed in color and must be approved by Dean's Office.

  • Scanning: all forms of document scanning, including text, images, illustrations; all scanning can be provided in a format suitable for hosting online or emailing; text recognition and document recovery.

  • Signage: nameplates, doorplates, event signs, hours signs, notices.

Web Services

  • Document Posting: creating, optimizing, and posting all forms of documents.

  • Graphic creation and editing: generating and editing web graphics.

  • Survey development/implementation: outlining, drafting, and implementing web surveys (including those managed via third party applications).

  • Update directory and profile: faculty and staff tool for updating directory information.

  • Web forms: creating forms for submitting information online.

  • Web planning, organization, implementation: web development assistance for simple and complex web sites.

  • Web site maintenance: full maintenance services for all College material online.
