The Three Courses of Study

The School Psychology Program at Sacramento State offers two credentials and two degrees:

  1. Pupil Personnel Services Credential: School Psychology option (PPS)

  2. Pupil Personnel Services Intern Credential: School Psychology option

  3. Master of Arts (M.A.) in Education (School Psychology option)

  4. Specialist in Education (Ed.S.) in School Psychology

Full-time students can complete the PPS sequence in six semesters. The planned course of study is based upon two considerations. First, courses that are foundational to later courses are taken in the appropriate order. Second, courses that provide complementary learning opportunities are offered within the same semester. Students who wish to complete the M.A. degree do so at the end of the fourth semester of full time study. Coursework for the Ed.S. is generally completed by the end of the sixth semester.
