The mission of the Department of Counselor Education at California State University, Sacramento is to prepare highly qualified counseling professionals. The Department is committed to creating and facilitating the ongoing design and implementation of an exemplary teaching/learning community.

This collaborative community will affirm and embrace diversity of values, ideas, and persons; and promote educational excellence and ethical commitment, while fostering the counseling needs of the client and larger community with integrity and competence.

Application Orientation Meetings

These meetings are to inform interested applicants about the application process in preparation for Fall 2012 Admissions. You will be able to ask questions regarding the application and the application process.

There are four meetings you can choose from; however you only need to attend one.

Application Orientations Dates and Times:

  • Wednesday, October 19th - from 5:15-6:30 PM.
  • Friday, October 21st - from - 5:15-6:30 PM.
  • Wednesday, November 16th, - from 5:15-6:30 PM.
  • Friday, November 18th. - from 5:15-6:30 PM.

Rooms are TBA; please contact the Department Office at 916-278-5399 for location information.

We will also hold Application Submission Clinics to ensure that applications are accurate and complete. Your application packet they will be checked by Department Staff; however if you mail your application in you are responsible for its completeness. Any applications that are not complete will NOT be considered for admission.

It is strongly encouraged that all applicants submit their application during one of our Application Submission Clinic dates.

Application Submission Clinic Dates and Times

  • Tuesday, November 29th, 1:00-6:00pm
  • Wednesday, November 30th, 1:00-6:00pm
  • Thursday, December 1st, 1:00-4:00pm
  • Friday, December 2nd, 10:00-4:00pm {Application Deadline}

These clinics will be held in our office in Eureka Hall 414

*No late applications or supporting materials will be accepted late - No exceptions
